After the evening and dinner to think about the game, I am left unsatisfied with the fact the Azzurri couldn't secure the 3 points with the man advantage. The ref was what he was and we didn't take over as we needed too. Kudos to the USA for standing tall in the face of buffoonery.
Looking ahead for the Azzurri. Our old friend Pavel and the Czechs will come with all they have left. Unfortunately for them I don't think it will include a first choice forward on the field. As with Ghana, the Italian midfield with Gattusso should provide enough cover for the Italians to convert a few chances against Cech. I am certainly not over confident of the result, and the boys won't be taking anything for granted either, they will come out focused and ready to go and hopefully secure all 3 points and the top of Group E.
Looking ahead for the USA. This will be an outstanding game. I am sick that Eddie Pope will not be able to play, the distinguished center back deserved better, and at the least deserves to play in the Group deciding game. For all the US's attitude against Italy they are facing a different beast in Ghana, I don't think they can afford to be as physical with the Black Stars in the midfield. I think the game comes down to finishing, I don't see alot of solid chances for either team. One item to note - the USA has NOT scored a goal from their foot in the first 2 games...that's a problem.
Final thought - Italy win, Ghana tie, Italy goes through top of Group.
